The London Abused Women’s Centre is gearing up for its best ever International Women’s Day Breakfast & Auction.

The morning will be filled with great conversation, some exceptional auction items to bid on and a wonderful and inspiring guest speaker, Michelle Dagnino. Her keynote address is: Girls speak out – How young women navigate self-esteem issues in today’s pop culture.

Michelle Dagnino is a well-known expert on youth culture and Generation Y engagement. Michelle’s widely-celebrated work as an advocate, speaker, author and consultant has made her a leading authority on youth and pop culture trends. Michelle’s presentations leave audiences feeling empowered, motivated and optimistic about their role in shaping future generations and cultivating leadership in a diversity of areas.

Michelle is the recipient of 2004 YWCA Young Woman of Distinction award, and in 2006 was named by The Globe and Mail and the Women’s Executive Network as on of Canada’s Top 100: Most Powerful Woman.  The Toronto Star name her “a woman to buoy the soul”, and the City of Toronto honoured her with the Person’s Day Award in recognition of her leadership and contributions to her community.

The International Women’s Day Breakfast & Auction continues to be the agency’s single largest annual fundraiser.
