Campaign Kick-Off & Lighting of the Tree
Victoria Park –  5:30pm

Join us for the countdown to illuminate the Purple Tree in honour of the Shine the Light on Woman Abuse Campaign (SW corner of the park at Clarence St and Dufferin Ave). The tree will stay illuminated throughout the month of November

7th  Annual Dave Richards Memorial 4-on-4 Co-ed Adult Ball Hockey Tournament

Shine the Light Chalk Walk
Fanshawe College
Fanshawe College Students will bring awareness to violence against women in our community by posting information and statistics on the sidewalks surrounding Fanshawe College main campus and residence.


Tuesday November 15

Wear Purple Day
Wear PURPLE all day! Decorate your home or office with purple balloons, streamers or ribbon.

Followed by a Q&A about cyber sexual violence and supports and resources in our community
Audrie & Daisy holds up a mirror to our culture, giving us the opportunity to glimpse it as an outsider might. We need this view, because to many teenagers sexual harassment and violence seem almost inevitable. In a 2014 study of teen survivors of sexual violence, the respondents said they didn’t report their abuse because they thought what happened was normal. John_R was not a mysterious stranger in a dark alley. He was a kid whom Audrie knew and considered a friend. Yet, he wasn’t. John_R’s actions reflect his understanding of a pervasive culture that condones and normalizes violence against women. More info:
